New York Restaurant (and somewhat tourist-y) Adventure! Pt.2

Ok, the journey continues!

Betony
3 Stars NYT
No Michelin Star, yet.

Opened and run by alumni from EMP. I have heard so much about this place from everyone at work, I just had to visit.

"Bread". Reminded me of Wd~50.

Foie Gras Bon Bons & "Lobster Roll". Amazing.
Beef Tongue
Scallop

Palate cleanser. Can't remember what it was but I do remember not liking it.

Foie Gras with ham hock broth. Duckies and Piggies, stop being so tasty.

Monkfish

Grilled Short Rib
I'm pretty sure this wasn't THE short rib that everyone at work had talked about. Nevertheless, the meat melted in my mouth, quite possibly one of the best beef dishes I have ever consumed. That garnish does look super familiar though ;-p

Lobster

Beautiful space

The food at Betony was stunning, especially the foie bonbons and the beef. Service though, well..I'll just say they had a tough act to follow (I went to Betony the night after EMP).

I've already posted about Peter Luger so just the photos this time.

Del Posto
4 stars NYT
One Michelin star

Woohoo!

Amuse bouche. Volute, lobster and black truffle.

Bread & Butter

Vitelo Tonnato
Porcini Ravioli

Lamb

Duck

Brown Butter Pana Cotta

Pecorino Cake

Petit Four

All of this for $49 pp!!! ($39 if you don't add on the past course). It's a steal. Great setting, great food, great service and tiny price tag. Recommended.

And now for the tourist-y part - Top of the Rock, The Met, Chelsea Market, Times Square, Chicago

30 Rock

The Met

Picasso
I think this one was Miro??
Can't remember the artist but really like this one!

Starbucks siren

WoW! Such artistic! Much armour!

This one is Monet right? not Gogh..?
Google confirms, yes, that one is indeed Monet. The Met is AMAZING. I only got to cover maybe 1/10 of it. PLUS it's donation based so if you are a bit tight on budget, it's a great place to spend time and spend very little.

Chelsea Market. Fresh Clams.

Fresh Uni! S put away two of these pretty much by herself.

Musical!
With Andrey's recommendation we went to see Chicago. Something that was on my list but also something I would probably have not followed through if it wasn't for Andrey's recommendation and S. We went to Tkts the last minute and got 50% off tickets for what turned out to be great seats. I love the movie so I was curious to see what it would be like live and I was quite blown away by the performance, much more impressive than the movie!

I think that just about concludes my 5 day adventure around New York. Absolutely can't wait to do it all over again. Perhaps when Ally gets here :)
